Basic Pistol Instructor Class forming now. Enjoy the satisfaction of helping others exercise their 2nd Amendment Rights!

The class is 2 full days including classroom training and 2 range sessions. Once completed you will be ready to conduct Basic Pistol Classes on your own.

The Process

The first step is to register for a pre-qual range session. Choose a 30 minute session, pay the $100 deposit, complete the Gun Stoke Prequal Questionnaire, then pass the handling and shooting tests at your chosen session. If you meet the standards for pre-qualification you will be accepted into the class and the $100 will be applied towards the course fee. If you fall short of the standards you will be refunded $50.

The class itself consists of two parts, Basic Instructor Training (BIT), and Basic Pistol Instructor Training. BIT is 6 hours. It covers the NRA's basic training methodology which can be applied to any NRA course. The Basic Pistol Instructor Training is 10 hours in length. It is the discipline specific portion of the course and it prepares you to teach Basic Pistol Students the appropriate NRA course material. In addition we will cover CT specific issues regarding the permit process and firearm ownership. Due to this the class will likely run longer than 16 hours required by the NRA. I want my instructors to be prepared to give the most comprehensive training possible.
