You will fire a revolver, rimfire semi-auto, and center-fire semi auto. That other class you are looking at likely only allows you to fire a few shots out of a rimfire revolver.

I will notarize your permit application and any other supporting documents as needed for free. You may have seen notary services included by that other guy, but are you sure he isn't charging you $15? And by the way that is illegal.

I do not provide fingerprinting services in the classroom. First of all, most police departments will insist on doing their own. Secondly, they didn't tell you this when you signed up but they are going to charge you for those fingerprints. I'd rather be teaching you things you need to know instead of having you sit around for an hour while I fingerprint an entire class.

Same thing goes for passport photos. 99% of the towns in CT don't require this but some unscrupulous instructors will sell them to you anyway. Yes they are going to charge you for them even though they didn't tell you that. You can get them at Walgreens, Walmart, CVS, or Costco among other places if you need them. Very quick and easy and likely less than what you would pay in a permit class.

Online class from the comfort of your home? That's awesome. How good is the training? Hehe, from what I've seen it ranges from bad to downright horrible. Don't care, just want your permit without having to travel for it? Great. Where are you going to shoot for the live fire portion? You may be surprised when you find out.

Please choose your class wisely. I see too many instructors out there ripping people off for stuff they don't need, permits they can't even get, and outright lying to people. #1 rated class in CT? By who? NY and NJ permits for nonresidents? Wanna bet? All ex-military instructors? That's great, ask them how many times they even touched a handgun in the Army. I'll wait. Lawyer comes to class to tell you about gun laws? Big deal. We all teach the same laws. Do you really need to spend an hour listening to people asking about their brother's uncle's half-sister-in-law that brought 92 guns from Kentucky and now the guns have been left to you and you want to know which ones are legal, how you can sell them, and on and on and on? I know I don't.

Anyway, just be careful in you selection. Saving a few dollars isn't always saving in the long run. Make sure you choose a class that will provide proper training to keep you and those around you safe and secure. I'd love it if you chose my class, 4.500+ students can't be wrong!
